About this game
Omi as it is actually played: four players, two partnerships, trumps called before the hand begins, and eight tricks to take between you. Familiar to anyone who grew up with it and quick to pick up if you did not.
How it plays
Thirty two cards, seven up to ace, and four players in two partnerships sitting opposite each other. You and the player across the table are on the same side, so every trick either of you takes counts the same.
The deal comes in two halves. Everyone gets four cards, the player to the dealer’s right names the trump suit off those four alone, and only then are the remaining four dealt. Calling blind on half a hand is the whole tension of the game, and there is no passing: if it is your call, you call.
Play runs counter clockwise. Follow the suit that was led if you can, and the highest trump takes the trick, or the highest card of the led suit if nobody trumps. Eight tricks are in play and your side needs five of them to make the hand. Take all eight and it is a Kapothi, worth three tokens instead of one. Fall short and the other side takes two. First partnership to ten tokens wins.
Three bot difficulties, no account, and nothing to connect to.
